This year’s Prognosis festival in the Netherlands, which was scheduled to take place on March 20th & 21st has been postponed. Artists included Enslaved, Anathema, Katanoia and more were scheduled to be part of the event.

Organizers issued the following statement:

“Our government has decided to cancel all events in The Netherlands (where there are more than 100 visitors). So unfortunately Prognosis festival 2020 will not take place next weekend in Effenaar. During this week, it became clear to us that the government possibly would be forced to take such a drastic measure. We started looking for new dates for the festival. Fortunately we have found a new weekend for Prognosis.

These new dates are Friday and Saturday September 4th and 5th. So Prognosis will not take place next weekend but will be postponed until September. Your tickets will remain valid for the new dates. We are working hard on keeping the line-up together. Anathema and Katatonia are available for the new dates and are working on adjusting their schedule. We are in contact with the other bands and we will keep you posted about new developments. Hope to see you all in September.

All ticket buyers will be informed by Ticketmaster Nederland via e-mail. Please keep an eye on your inbox the upcoming days.”

Hell & Heaven festival is still on, which is scheduled to kick off this weekend on March 14th & 15th in Mexico City. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic and other health-related issues, acts are dropping out of the bill.

King Diamond is forced to cancel his appearance on March 15th due to surgery:

Read King Diamond’s full-non-coronavirus-related statement below:

“I was recently advised by my doctor to have surgery done for an issue, which, if not done right away, would have prevented me from flying. We did not expect to have any complications after the surgery, but my healing is slower than anticipated, and I’ve been advised to ‘forego air travel until his healing stabilizes and additional risks are minimized.’ Unfortunately and regretfully, this means that we cannot make it this weekend to play at Hell & Heaven. we love playing in Mexico and can’t wait to get a chance to make this up to you. Till then, stay heavy.”

Katatonia and Bloodbath have so far cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Read both statements below:

Katatonia:

It is with heavy hearts we have decided to cancel our appearance at Hell & Heaven in Mexico this coming weekend.

All Scandinavian authorities have come to the same conclusion: do not travel. It is for our own health and the health of others. As there are news and regulations coming by the hour, the situation is very fluctuating and uncertain.

Please know that we were always ready to go, but the restrictions has become more severe the last 24 hours in Europe. Also, we will do everything we can to come back to Mexico once this situation has changed for the better.

Stay safe!

Hell & Heaven festival organizers have addressed concerns over the coronavirus pandemic:

“Hell and Heaven Metal Fest wants to endorse public opinion that we are very attentive to any indication issued by the Federal Government and the Ministry of Health and in constant communication with the three levels of government to be able to carry out this event responsibly at the Context of Covid-19. In fact, our main commitment is the health and safety of all attendees, so we will be providing timely information to the public on time and, as a first step, we are enabling the one that can enter without no problem between objects allowed to the public antibacterial gel in individual presentation and sealed in addition to cover. Food and beverage providers, as well as access controls will be taking every precautions about it so that people come with the certainty that they are within a controlled environment to ensure their well-being.

The festival that will take place this weekend at the Pegasus Forum will be held as planned on Saturday 14th and Sunday March 15 and there is already a great advance on the stages and throughout the infrastructure such as you have contemplated. It is important to note that there are some artists who unfortunately will not be able to leave their countries either due to complications in flight logistics or by official disposition or because they do not want to take the risk of traveling to another country right now. Hell and Heaven will extreme the strict security and control measures already had, in order to ensure the integrity of all attendees, in an effort because this is a historic weekend and we ensure that attendees will not run no risk because in Mexico the number of registered cases of this virus is very low and has been kept under containment, but still by the festival have considered all the applicable preventive measures in health that the health authorities have recommended so there is no problem or hypothetical contagion. We are ready to make history.”
