Sacred Reich guitarist Jason Rainey steps down from group

Jason Rainey has decided to leave Sacred Reich after founding the band with vocalist Phil Rind in 1985 citing health concerns. The thrash metal titans have announced that 22-year-old Joey Radziwill will take over on guitar. Joey is the son of drummer Tim Radziwill who, along with his son, helped the band during the writing of the new record.

In a statement the band had this to say:

“Joey and his dad Tim [drums] helped us record the demos for the new songs. So when we needed a new guitar player, Joey was the obvious choice and was able to jump right in and crush his parts on the new record. He is 22 years old and grew up listening to SACRED REICH (his parents raised him up right).

“We welcome Joey, his immense guitar skills, and youthful energy to the band!”

As reported earlier here on Metal Insider, Sacred Reich are finishing up their newest release Awakening, at The Platinum Studio in Arizona, due out this summer.
