Needing over 100 stitches to reattach what the dog took, Nigel Glockler of Saxon is lucky to have his nose back! The drummer shared his injury on Facebook, revealing a dog didn’t seem to take a liking to his face and attempted to bite his nose off.

Read Glockler’s statement below:

“I was at the pub last night, petting a dog when it decided it did not like my face and took off half my nose. I’ve had over 100 stitches inside and out of the nose and it’s been reattached. Gina says between this and the scar on my scalp I should change my name to FrankenNigel. The good news is no problems for the upcoming shows – see you soon!”

The scar on his scalp refers to an emergency brain surgery Glockler underwent back in 2015.

The dog hasn’t made any comments or shared an official apology just yet. However, we are relieved to know his injuries aren’t too serious as the band will perform their scheduled shows. Saxon will continue to celebrate their latest effort Thunderbolt, which was released earlier this year by embarking on a US trek in February of next year as well as joining next year’s Monsters Of Rock cruise.
