Today (29), Stone Temple Pilots’ deluxe 25th anniversary reissue of their 1992 debut album Core arrived. To celebrate the release, Rolling Stone shared a track by track guide on the classic album along with speaking to the surviving members of the band.

Not only did they discuss the past, bassist Robert DeLeo announced future plans. It’s been well over a year since the group opened an audition process for a new singer and it seems they’ve been keeping this news as a secret. Sadly, both of the band’s previous frontmen, Scott Weiland and Chester Bennington, have both passed away. DeLeo informed, they are working on new music with a brand new vocalist.

He stated:

“We’ve been working with someone – I don’t want to name names yet – and we’re making music. I don’t know if he’s well-known or unknown; I don’t look at him as ‘well-known.’ But we’re writing music and we’re hopefully looking at finishing a record and putting it out soon.”
