Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has been suffering from lymphoma for the last several years. And while he’s doing ok for the moment, he wanted to raise awareness of cancer. On that end, the Iommi teamed up with Macmillan Cancer Support for their “Our Not Alone” campaign to show just how lonely and isolating cancer can be. Instead of just talking about it, like he already has been, the guitarist stood in a glass box outside the Bullring Shopping Centre in Birmingham, England. And while everyone could see him, he couldn’t see them at all, since the glass was one way. And while it’s noble of Iommi to be involved, and brave, it’s not even a fraction of what he’s had to go thorough as a cancer survivor.
