It looks like Tool has finally finished the recording process of their long awaited follow-up to 2006’s 10,000 Days as the group has shared an image on Facebook of them in the studio. Based on the post, the photograph shows guitarist Adam Jones, bassist Justin Chancellor and drummer Danny Carey as well as the album’s producer/engineer Joe Barresi and mastering engineer Bob Ludwig, who worked on 10,000 Days. Maynard James Keenan was missing from the photo. However, his vocals have already been tracked since last year. This could be a concrete indicator that their new album will be released this year as we can only hope this means its on its way to the final mastering or packaging stage.

While Carey had mentioned the album would arrive in mid-April, maybe he meant that would be roughly when the mastering would be completed by. Maynard had already shot down this rumor expressing that “simple math” would suggest their new LP will arrive sometime over the summer.
