The remaining members of We Came As Romans haven’t had much of a break since the passing of Kyle Pavone, who died on August 25th, 2018 from an accidental overdose. The group decided to continue touring in honor of their lost bandmate, which included a memorial show this passed October. Vocalist Dave Stephens recently spoke to Billboard and expressed that the group are currently writing new material.

He stated:

“We’ve been throwing a few demos around. I love that we’re going into the studio with so much to write about and something that hits home for all of us so hard. We’ve never had something so terrible happen, and I think it’s going to be therapeutic to write about it and be together and go through the whole process. I’m actually really looking forward to it. Every record we make some kind of progression, so there’ll be a progression on this one, but I don’t think we’re going to do anything too drastic. It’s still gonna sound like We Came As Romans.”

While it’s been since 2017’s Cold Like War, Stephens revealed there will most likely be material from the late Pavone on their next album. Stephens also addressed the band has no plans to replace Pavone as their next album will officially mark their first full-length effort without him. Read the full story on Billboard.
