Right now, Clutch and Primus are snaking their way throughout the country on a lengthy tour. If you liked offbeat alternative or metal two decades ago, you probably already knew about this and/or have attended it. If you haven’t yet, it’s a must-see. After being together for the better part of four decades between them, both bands are playing at a high level, and their quirkiness and lyrical mastery make them perfect tourmates. We attended a Friday night show at the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, NJ, and both bands played high-energy sets that ran the gamut of their catalogues. Clutch even snuck in a few new ones.
