Last Friday night (26), The Damned Things rolled through New York City’s Gramercy Theatre with Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, Fair To Midland,HourCast, and Kills & Thrills on what would prove to be the last show of their tour together.  That’s because Hurricane Irene shut the remaining dates down, forcing the bands to go for broke in the middle of the Big Apple.  It paid off, as Fair To Midland went ballistic in front of a tightly-packed crowd that seemed to know every lyric from their new album Arrows and Anchors.  Maylene and the Sons of Disaster were predictably solid, mixing new material in with the rock-tinged hardcore swagger they’re known for and firing the crowd up for Scott Ian and Keith Buckley’s new supergroup.  And that’s a good thing, because Maylene and the Sons of Disaster just barely had time to clear their gear out before The Damned Things stormed the stage.  They wasted no time in lighting up the audience, with Ian’s savage riffing backing Buckley’s intensity as Rob Caggiano’s guitar solos careened into the rafters.  Our own fearless photographer Di Lynn Ring was there to document it; check her photos from the show out below.
