Slowly but surely, Canada’s The Unravelling are emerging from hibernation in 2015.

The first inclination was their single “Revolt” (which became available several months ago) which featured a revamped sound consisting of a plethora of synth beats with underlying guitar – almost a full 180 from their critically acclaimed debut, 2010’s “13 Arcane Hymns.”

Now, The Unravelling bring forth the next phase in their plan for world domination with yet another new single in “Master Drone,” a song that keeps the synth but utilizes a progressive  rhythm under the haunting vocals of Steve Moore, creating a Tool meets Nine Inch Nails vibe.

A chunk of that sound can be contributed to instrumentalist Gustavo de Beauville, who’s immersion in soundtrack work continues to bring The Unravelling further down the rabbit hole. De Beauville not only recorded the track, but mixed and mastered it as well.

Artwork continues to fit the mood with the talents of Shaun Friesen, (Freezen.ca) who has provided his talents to every release from The Unravelling.

Moore’s lyrics drive the song into a morbid frenzy about human conditioning and the conspiracy behind it.

“It’s clear to see the sign is us
All we worship modeled after us
Our own webs woven over us
Spiders dangling like flies “

Master Drone will be available for download July 8 and can be heard in all its controlled chaotic glory below and at The Unravelling’s official Bandcamp page.
