Jason Newsted’s first full length album, Heavy Metal Music is due out on August 6 through Chophouse Records/Collective Sounds, but that isn’t stopping the band from giving us a taste of what we can expect from the debut. The opening track, “Heroic Dose,” has already been released and with the 30-second sample of “Above All,” we get a pretty good idea of what the entire album will sound like: heavy! The debut EP simply titled Metal was designed to preview what can be expected of the full length effort. The former Metallica and Voivod bassist explains in his own words what it will sound like and just in case you didn’t get the hint from the title of the EP and the album, “It’s all metal all the time, it’s not all fast but it’s all heavy.”
