If news about the next Down EP wasn’t enough for you, maybe this one will be. Crowbar has announced they will be releasing their tenth studio album Symmetry In Black, followup to Sever The Wicked Hand back in 2011. The album is set to be released May 27 on eOne Music and marks the band’s 25th anniversary. This will be the band’s first album with bassist Jeff Golden and Kirk Windstein’s first since leaving Down.

In a press release, Windstein commented on the album:

“We are so proud and excited about what we have accomplished with this record! The focus, determination and attitude in the band is at an all time high. We are 100% ready to get this Juggernaut rolling and never touch the breaks again. CROWBAR will not be stopped! Crowbar is my heart and soul. The music is a part of me that I am extremely proud of. It’s an amazing feeling to be putting all of my energy & focus into something that I created 25 years ago! We are extremely excited to release our 10th full length & to bring the riffs to as many people as possible on tour. See you on the road!”

So, all in all, it looks like a good week for announcements for Down-related musicians between this, the next Down EP, and an album 14 years in the making for Jimmy Bower’s other band.
