It’s been five years since Brendon Small, the mastermind behind Dethklok, released his space-themed project Galaktikon and ten years since the debut of The Dethalbum. Small is now ready to announce further details on the next chapter of his Galaktikon project after spending the last few years working on it. On August 25 via Megaforce Records/MRI, his ambitious intergalactic extreme metal album entitled Galaktikon II: Become the Storm will finally arrive. Digital pre-orders for this anticipated release will be available next Friday, June 2 and you can find more information about that here.

The album was co-produced by Small and Grammy-nominated producer/engineer Ulrich Wild and it will be more brutal than the prior. Featured musicians will include Dethklok alum bassist Bryan Beller (The Aristocrats, Dweezil Zappa, Steve Vai) and drummer Gene Hoglan (Testament, Death, Dark Angel etc.).

The mastermind shared his excitement:

“This record is a combination of all the sounds I’ve been making throughout my creative life. It’s as heavy as I want it to be and melodic as I want it to be – it’s the bigger, darker record I wanted to hear. And what a way to celebrate my 10 year anniversary of making metal with Gene, Bryan and Ulrich, some of the best in the industry. I’m excited to have it live inside listeners’ heads and let their imaginations take over!”

Small teamed up with the Nerdist and shared a 360°  teaser video of Galaktikon II: Become The Storm and you can watch it below:
