Soundgarden To Release Their First-Ever Live Album

Posted by on January 14, 2011

It may not be the new album that fans have been hoping for, or the one guitarist Kim Thayil teased last month, but it’s still something. The recently reunited Soundgarden will be releasing their first full live album on March 22. Live On 15 features live recordings taken from the band’s 1996 West Coast tour. In addition to live renditions of hits such as “Rusty Cage,” “Black Hole Sun,” and “Spoonman,” the live album also includes covers of The Beatles’ “Helter Skelter” and The Stooges’ “Search And Destroy.” The full track listing can be seen below.

Fans have been waiting for Soundgarden to announce plans for either more shows or new album since their reunion this past Summer. While fans shouldn’t read too much into the release of this live album, it still gives further hope that Soundgarden might have more plans this coming year. We still may not get a full tour or an album of new material in 2011, but it doesn’t appear that Soundgarden is going back into hibernation anytime soon.
