Motionless in White recently embarked on a North American tour to celebrate the release of their latest effort Graveyard Shift, which arrived this past May via Roadrunner. Their headlining journey kicked off on September 28th and concludes on Halloween in Philadelphia, PA. These Pennsylvania industrial metallers were ready to give their fans haunting treats and we were there to see it for their show on October 12th at the Playstation Theater in NYC, which had The Amity Affliction, Miss May I and William Control as their special guests.

The evening kicked off with William Control as he surprised the metalheads in the room with darkwave tunes. It was a unique way to begin the evening, however, the group’s gothic and industrial elements were the perfect way to set the mood of the night.

Following the darkwave/industrial warmup, Miss May I were ready to bring their latest album Shadows Inside to life on stage. Not only were they promoting their new record, these Ohio-based metallers were celebrating their ten year anniversary by performing songs such as “Lost in the Grey,” “Relentless Chaos,” “My Sorrow,” “Hey Mister,” “Swallow Your Teeth,” “Under Fire,” and “Shadows Inside.”

Continuing the metalcore setting, Australia’s The Amity Affliction were up next. The venue was nearly packed at this point as many fans cried out “Amity!” before their set even begun. They gave a blistering dosage of energy as they performed a handful of tunes including “I Bring the Weather With Me,” “Open Letter,” “Lost & Fading,” “Shine On,” “All Fucked Up,” “Death’s Hand,” “Pittsburgh,” “Don’t Lean On Me,” and “This Could Be Heartbreak.”

After a short break, a curtain covered the stage when the only thing anyone could see were two skeletons leaning on mic stands. Moments later, the music began as the curtain slowly opened revealing Motionless In White as they brought the graveyard to the stage. While the lights flickered with strobes and darkness in the front of the stage, the back had a few lit pumpkins to remind all Halloween is near.

The concertgoers screamed throughout their entire performance while a sea of crowd surfers continued to pass by. Between their performance and visual enhancements, fans remained engaged. The set included songs such as “Rats,” “Reincarnate,” “Devil’s Night,” “Soft,” “Loud (Fuck It),” “570,” “A-M-E-R-I-C-A,” “Ghost In The Mirror,” “Dead as Fuck,” “Not My Type: Dead as Fuck 2,” “Immaculate Misconception,” “We Only Come Out At Night,” “Untouchable,” “Necessary Evil,” and “Eternally Yours.”
