The 14th annual New England Metal & Hardcore Festival isn’t set to take place for another five months or so. However, the festival’s organizers MassConcerts have posted an audio teaser from a “mystery headliner” who’ll be performing at the festival’s 2012 edition. And as Metal Sucks’ points out, the voice heard in the teaser has a strong resemblance to Killswitch Engage singer Howard Jones.

So that leads to the obvious question: is Killswitch Engage one of the headliners for this coming year’s New England Metal & Hardcore Festival? Well it would make a lot of sense if they are. Not only is the Masscore group veterans to the festival, but they’re apparently aiming for a Summer 2012 release for their first album since 2009’s self-titled release. Plus, KSE have reportedly lined up some European festival dates as well.

We’ll find out if Killswitch Engage will be performing at the festival soon enough. New England Metal & Hardcore Festival promises on their website that the official lineup and ticket information will be announced Monday, December 12 at noon EST. The 14th annual New England Metal & Hardcore Festival will be held from April 20 to 22 at The Palladium Theatre in Worcester, MA.
