In some rather sad news, Black Breath bassist Elijah Nelson has passed away this weekend. The cause of death hasn’t been revealed but Nelson was only 40-years-old. The Seattle death metal group’s most recent album is 2015’s Slaves Beyond Death. 

Bands and friends of his have posted tributes, which can be seen below.

“We are obviously saddened by the news of Elijah Nelson’s passing. BLACK BREATH were very important to Nasum during the final leg of the farewell tour. Elijah was the Cliff Burton of death metal and he will be missed.”
