Former Boston drummer Sib Hashian died on Wednesday evening (22) after collapsing onstage during the Legends of Rock Cruise at the age of 67. According to TMZ, Sib’s son, Adam, confirmed the drummer collapsed midset, playing classic Boston hits alongside with fellow ex-band member Barry Goudreau. Medics were there at the scene doing everything they could to revive him including CPR and the use of a defibrillator. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to resuscitate him. Former Dio and Rainbow bassist Jimmy Bain also died last year while playing a cruise, Def Leppard’s inaugural ‘Hysteria on the High Seas’ cruise.

Hashian was with Boston during their first two albums 1976’s Boston and 1978’s Don’t Look Back and left the group during 1986’s Third Stage. We are deeply saddened by this loss and our condolences go out to his friends and family.
