Last night, Steven Adler was admitted to a hospital for what TMZ is calling a suicide attempt after being found with a stab wound to his stomach. The former Guns n’ Roses drummer was found at his Los Angeles home after someone called 911 to report that someone had stabbed themselves. Upon arrival, police and an ambulance found Adler. The drummer was rushed to a hospital with non-life threatening wounds.

Adler has struggled with substance abuse for much of his life. And original member of  Guns n’ Roses, the drummer was booted from the band in 1990, forming his own band, Adler’s Appetite, in 2003. He appeared several reality shows, including Celebrity Rehab, where host Dr. Drew Pinksy diagnosed him as suicidal. While he was present and part of GN’R’s induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, he wasn’t part of the band’s reunion several years ago, although he’s joined them once or twice to play a few songs in recent years.

It’s good to know that if indeed this was a suicide attempt, that he’ll recover and we hope he gets the help he needs. While he’s scheduled to play a show in Las Vegas on July 12th, it’s not certain if he’ll be recovered by then.
