Chino Moreno is busy enough as it is. He’s been performing with his side project Crosses †††as of late, and soon he’ll be hitting the studio and the road with his the Deftones. And now comes word that Moreno is teaming up with former members of Isis in a new group called Palms.

In addition to Moreno, Palms features Isis alumni Aaron Harris (drums), Clifford Meyer (guitar/ keyboards) and Jeff Caxide (bass/ keyboards). Harris had the following to say about Moreno joining the sessions:

“Clifford, Jeff and I started Palms a little over a year ago out of a desire to continue making music together after ISIS ended. Chino joined shortly after and our sound took shape from there.  We’ve worked really hard on this first release and are excited for people to hear it.  It’s nice to be back behind the drum kit, and with this line up.”

Moreno added the following about working with the three in Palms:

“Being a huge ISIS fan I’ve always dug the moods these dudes convey with their sound. I am excited to combine my sense of creativity with theirs, and to have fun doing so.”

Whether we’ll ever get to see Palms live is yet to be seen. However, we do know that the group’s debut album will be released by Ipecac Recordings later this year. An exact release date will be announced shortly.
