Gary Holt (Exodus/Slayer) slammed Imagine Dragons’ halftime performance

Posted by on January 9, 2019

While Gary Holt (Slayer/Exodus) has already removed his Instagram post, Loudwire has reported the guitarist recently slammed Imagine Dragons. After watching the pop/rock act’s halftime performance at the College Football Playoff Championship game this past Monday (7th) between Alabama and Clemson, Holt vented about their 10-minute set via Instagram, stating:

“Just watched the college football half time show to see just how bad it really was. PLEASE no more calling this shittiest band on earth “ rock”, they are simply the crappiest excuse for a band I’ve ever heard. Uggggh. Just awful . I don’t usually enjoy slagging musicians but they can’t really call themselves that. So fuck em!!”

According to Loudwire, Holt shared an image with text reading:

“Imagine Dragons suck giant hairy monkey balls.”

Apparently, since the group’s halftime show, Spin raised a question:

“Is Imagine Dragons the Worst Band Ever?”

Meanwhile, there seems to be a division via Twitter as a few consider them “the best” and others have labeled them “worse than Nickelback.”
