Did anyone know that there have been seven seasons of Gene Simmons Family Jewels? Me neither, but it looks like that’s coming to an end, as A&E has canceled the series. “We could not be more proud of the unparalleled run of Gene Simmons Family Jewels,”the network said in a statement about as scripted as the “reality” show has been.

While three million tuned in to last season’s finale when Gene finally married Shannon Tweed, the show had been averaging about 1 million this season. To put things into perspective, that’s about 1.6 million less than A&E’s Duck Dynasty. That’s right – the life and times of KISS’ egotistical bassist is about less than half as interesting to America as those of a family that owns a duck call business. A DUCK CALL BUSINESS, people! America has spoken, and they’ve chosen Duck Dynasty over KISS’ Dynasty. However, if you still want to watch Simmons be a self-centered capitalist, KISS have a new album coming out in October.
