When Van Halen made their live TV debut with David Lee Roth in March on Jimmy Kimmel  Live!, it was a real hit. And by that, we mean Roth hit himself while twirling a baton, cutting his nose in an accident that required 14 stitches. It was enough of a spectacle even without that, and the band made their third television performance a few days later in The Ellen Degeneres Show (the Fallon performance was stretched out into two nights). The band appear to be making up for lost time, as it’s been announced that they’ll be playing the Billboard Music Awards in a few weeks.

Televised on Sunday, May 17, Van Halen will be what appears to be one of the only rock bands on the show. Hozier, Ed Sheeran, Kelly Clarkson and Sam Smith are also slated to perform. Fall Out Boy will be performing with Wiz Khalifa as well, with Ludacris hosting. Van Halen will be touring this Summer in support of their double live album Tokyo Dome Live In Concert.
