When Slash arrived to play a show in Dublin, Ireland, he was presented with a gift of the town’s most famous export from the town’s most famous band. U2 sent the guitarist a case of Guinness. Nice gesture, eh? Not really. See, Slash is a recovering alcoholic, so much like millions of iTunes users, he was presented with something that he didn’t particularly want or ask for, and was useless to him. The axeman appears to have taken it in stride, however, tweeting about it. It appears to be a case of U2 not knowing enough about him before doing it. It also appears to be a case of Guinness. Maybe a little tone deaf on the band’s part.
