Mark Hunter Posts Demos From Chimaira’s ‘The Age Of Hell’ Sessions Online

Unless you’ve been living under a rock or have no access to metal news, then you know that Chimaira went through A LOT of changes this past year. Fast forward to the end of the year, and now the band features Daath bassist Jeremy Creamer and ex-Dirge Within guitarist Matt Szlachta, while Emil Werstler (also of Daath) swapped his bass duties for guitar. However, while the band is obviously focusing on moving forward after guitarists Rob Arnold and Matt DeVries’ departures, singer Mark Hunter has treated fans to some demos from the past.

This past weekend, Hunter uploaded four original demos he recorded during The Age Of Hell writing sessions on his Soundcloud account. While two (“Clockwork” and “Scum Of The Earth”) ended up appearing on The Age Of Hell (which came out last Summer), the other two never made it onto the record. According to Hunter via Twitter, he only posted instrumental demos of songs he wrote and arranged himself (out of respect to former bandmates). Though the demos may not include vocals, it’s still cool to hear unreleased songs from Chimaira, as well as released songs in their early stages.

You can listen to all four demos in the players after the jump.
