Andrew W.K. Announces “I Get Wet” 10th Anniversary Tour

Posted by on January 19, 2012

It’s somewhat hard to believe that it’s been ten years since Andrew W.K. released I Get Wet. Whether you’re a fan or not of the “king of partying” in general, there’s no denying that his pivotal debut album is simply a fun record, spawning hits like “Party Hard” and “She Is Beautiful.” And while he still releases albums, W.K. has since gone on to become the host of Cartoon Network’s Destroy Build Destroy, a motivational speaker, the 2012 World Snowboarding Championship’s music monitor/ theme song composer, and the center of his own conspiracy theory. Yet ten years later, W.K. is about to get wet all again.

To celebrate its tenth anniversary, Andrew W.K. will be performing I Get Wet in its entirety during his tour this Spring. The tour will see him playing all over North America, with four special shows set for this year’s SXSW in Austin, TX, as well as a few select shows in the UK and Scotland. Having seen W.K. live, the idea of actually seeing him and his band perform this album (which I still find myself listening to on occasion) sounds like it could actually be a blast.

So check out the dates for the I Get Wet 10th Anniversary Tour after the jump. Tickets go on sale to the general public on January 27, while a special pre-sale starts tomorrow (January 20) exclusively at Andrew W.K.’s website.
