Things are about to get busy for Brooklyn doom quintet Kings Destroy. The band just released an EP, None More, on cassette via War Crime Recordings. Interestingly enough, it’s one fourteen-minute song broken down into six movements. It’s meant to be listened to as one song, but you can pretty much trace the six movements. You can order the casstte, which also comes with a sticker and patch, here, or you can listen to it online.

As of next Wednesday, the band will be hitting the road for a few weeks with Swedish metallers Truckfighters. You’ll be able to find those dates by scrolling down. However as the band prepare to get in the van, they shared a playlist of songs they’ll be listening to while on the road (along with None More). Read on for the band’s descriptions, of songs, or perhaps let their playlist soundtrack a roadtrip or two of your own.

“None More”  Kings Destroy -Our newest jam. A 14 minute epic in 6 parts. Turn it up and enjoy!

“A Horse Called Golgotha”  Baroness – Best song from the Blue Record and a tour-de-force of insane guitar.

“Quantum Mystic”  YOB – Yob is love. This band is at the forefront both on record and live. We never miss them when they come through NYC and have the good fortune to count them as friends. We play Saint Vitus with them on Feb 18th.

“Stargazer” RainbowThe Rising record was a seriously heavy influence on most of us.. This song is a banger. Dig Cozy going out his mind on the intro.

“Purgatory”  Iron Maiden – A few of us are huge Maiden fans since childhood, and everyone knows Paul Di’Anno Maiden is the best Maiden.

“When the Screams Come” Pentagram – The perfect Pentagram song. The perfect song period.

“Death of a Queen” Radio Moscow – We’ve played a bunch of shows with these guys on two continents and had the pleasure of hearing them tear this jam up every night. The recorded version is sick too.

“Desert Cruiser” Truckfighters – Our tourmates starting 1/18. We’ve played with them 2x before in NYC and their live show is not to be missed.

“Roisin Dubh” Thin Lizzy – Gary Moore’s finest guitar work, and an epic tale from rock’s best storyteller.

“Demon Cleaner” Kyuss – What can we say. This one never gets old.

“Whisky’n Mama” ZZ Top – Killer riff, killer boogie groove, killer guitar tones.

“Nature Boy”  Gozu – Our friends from Boston. Great vox and jams, and great guys. Congrats on signing to Metal Blade.

“Dry Spell” Alabama Thunderpussy These guys used to come through Brooklyn a lot. Been digging this track lately.

“Putting On The Flesh” Bedlam – We were introduced to this by our friends in Radio Moscow, and it’s become of staple in the tour van ever since.

“God Luck and Good Speed” Weedeater -We could’ve picked any Weedeater song. Every one brings the sludgy majesty. Touring with them was a blast and probably the most fun we’ve had on the road.

“Bridgeburner” Mutoid Man – A huge breath of fresh air and a palate cleanser. They always slay live.

“Motorheathen”  Panzerbastard – This will kill you. Go see them live to experience the full range of heaviness.

“Pictures of Home”  Deep Purple – Songs about missing home are a staple of any tour, and when they come wrapped in killer riffs from Ritchie Blackmore, they’re even better.

“Night Goat”  Melvins – Um. Does anything need to be said? It makes me want to kill.

“Victim of Changes” Judas Priest – Early Priest is some of the darkest, heaviest stuff out there. A great jam for a long drive.

“Smokey Robinson” – Kings Destroy

“Isak” Baroness – This song and band has been blowing people away for a decade. Still can’t get enough.

“Banned In DC” Bad Brains – hugely influential to us as musicians. We were lucky enough to witness them live at the height of their power.

“Compendium”  Elder – Their 2015 album Lore was best in class.  Can’t wait for their new one this year.

“Strong Reflection” Mars Red Sky – played some shows w this French band last year and they are fantastic.  Spacey and melodic but also really heavy.

“Malfunction” Cro Mags – NYHC at its finest. Our roots. One of the best live bands.

“Crack The Skye” Mastodon – Breakthrough album on many levels and the songwriting is amazing.

“Blood of Recompense” – Kings Destroy

“Long Way to Go” Alice Cooper – This will move you down the highway. Love It To Death is our fav Alice Cooper band album.
