Behemoth has at least 13 ideas for new album, reveal US headlining shows

Posted by on May 8, 2017

Let’s face it, Behemoth frontman Adam “Nergal” Darski has been quite busy this year, especially after releasing Songs of Love and Death, his side project Me and That Man. We aren’t that far away from seeing his main band tour with Slayer and Lamb of God, which, while exciting for fans, would leave no time to record a new album. Despite Nergal’s hunger to make more Behemoth, it seems we’ll have to wait until at least 2018 for this to happen. Nergal spoke with Rockhok about a follow-up to 2014’s The Satanist and he implied (transcribed via Blabbermouth):

“We’re taking it easy — it’s not tense whatsoever. But we have ten or thirteen, already, sketches of new songs.”

He estimated the next album will arrive sometime during the fall 2018 and continued:

“I know it’s [a long] time [from now], but time’s flying and we’re super stoked about this new stuff. I like the approach with Behemoth too, because when I went from [doing the  Me and That Man folk project] to do Behemoth songs, I was super hungry — I was hungry for doing radical sounds. And I really hope that it sounds different again, that it’s refreshing and it’s something redefining and rejuvenating in what we do with Behemoth But let’s see, because maybe it’s too early to talk about it.”
