When Dave Mustaine isn’t firing guitar techs on his Periscope videos, sometimes he drops huge news, like a Megadeth tour in the U.S. in early 2016. Though he didn’t reveal the line-up, drummer Chris Adler already hinted at the possibility of bringing the Megadeth / Lamb of God line-up stateside – two bands that will be touring together in Ireland and the UK later this month.

Said Mustaine on Megadeth returning to the US:

“We’re not gonna be heading back into the States until, I think… In February of ’16, I think, is when we start the U.S. tour. And we’ve got a pretty interesting lineup. I’m sure you guys are gonna be stoked. I can’t say anything yet until it’s confirmed. But it looks like everybody’s gonna be accepting the tour. And it’ll be four of us.”

Megadeth only played a few dates in the US last year, but spent most of 2014 playing all around the world before guitarist Chris Broderick and drummer Shawn Drover left the band in November.

Since finding replacements in drummer Chris Adler (who also plays in Lamb of God), and guitarist Kiko Loureiro, Megadeth has been touring overseas, making stops in Australia and Japan. Their latest album, Dystopia, will be out January 22nd.
