despisedCanadian deathcore pioneers Despised Icon got back together earlier this year to play a few reunion shows in the UK and Europe. The band’s first shows in three years were successful enough for them to decide to play a few more shows in Canada and the United States, and they’ve just announced the shows, which they say will be your last chance to see them. It’s not like they have an album or any more touring planned, either, so this might be in. Here’s what vocalist Alex Erian said via a press release:

“Cheers to everyone that came out to our reunion shows this summer. The response was overwhelming. It felt just like in the good old days. We promised you a few more in Canada and the US, so here you go! There won’t be any other dates so don’t miss out. Keep it brutal.”

This will be the first time in four years since the band will have performed in North America. What’s even better news for fans of broken-up death metal bands, The Red Chord will be playing a one-off show with them at their December 21, Palladium show in Worcester. That’s going to be pretty excellent, especially since frontman Guy Kozowyk is a police officer now.
