The last we heard from Ghost, they were going to try to infiltrate the Pope’s visit to Philly while on their headlining tour. That might prove to be impossible, with the security we keep reading about, but it turns out that Ghost fans in five cities will get a chance to see them up close and personal in a new setting long before that. A YouTube clip posted today reveals that the Swedish band will be undertaking a five-city “Unholy/Unplugged” tour of record stores. They’ll be playing in Seattle, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Baltimore and Brooklyn starting next Tuesday (18). It’ll be interesting to see the band in such an intimate setting and hear how they rework their music in an unplugged manner. Here’s where you’ll be able to catch them:

Tues, 8/18 @ Silver Platters (SoDo Location) | Seattle, WA – 7pm
Thurs, 8/20 @ Amoeba Records | Los Angeles, CA – 6pm
Fri, 8/21 @ ZIA (Camelback Location) | Phoenix, AZ – 7pm
Sat, 8/22 @ Sound Garden | Baltimore, MD – 2pm
Sun, 8/23 @ Rough Trade | Brooklyn, NY – 2pm

Meliora will be out on August 21 on Loma Vista. It can be preordered here.
