Drummer Chason Westmoreland has left Hate Eternal due to ” family matters,” and Hannes Grossmann, formerly of Obscura, and Necrophagist will be filling in for the band. Westmoreland has been with the band since 2013, when he replaced Jade Simonetto. The news comes just days before Hate Eternal hits the road with Misery Index, Beyond Creation, and Rivers of Nihil.

“Hannes is an incredible drummer, amazing person and absolute professional. We had the fortune of touring with Obscura many years ago and got to witness first hand the kind of pedigree Hannes is as a musician. Rehearsal is going great and we could not be more excited about getting out there on our first headlining tour for our new album ”Infernus” with Hannes behind the kit!”
The update mentions this as a “collaboration,” and Grossmann is not listed as a member on the Hate Eternal Season of Mist band page. This is probably a temporary gig for Grossmann, as he is in both Alkaloid and Blotted Science already.
Hate Eternal’s latest album Infernus came out in August, their first on Season of Mist, and debuted at #169, their highest debut yet.
