Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison’s new side project has just booked its first major tour. It’s been announced that Scar The Martyr will be touring with Danzig this August, starting in Toronto on August 9. Also appearing on the tour Huntress, making this billing even more awesome.

Jordison and lead vocalist Henry Derek (the only two listed as official members) are expected to be on the tour. However, it’s unclear whether Scar The Martyr’s live incarnation will also feature studio members Jed Simon (ex-Strapping Young Lad) and Kris Norris (ex-Darkest Hour), and/or Chris Vretta (ex-Nine Inch Nails/Marilyn Manson). It’s still not even clear when Scar The Martyr’s debut album will officially be released. Either way, touring with Danzig will definitely be a nice way to introduce Jordison’s new project (especially since it’s been described as “A searing rock record that draws elements from post-punk and industrial music to create an immersive and modern attack”).
