Another one bites the dust! With the reformation of Nine Inch Nails, Adrian Belew is the next one to be out of the band. Belew posted a lengthier explanation about his departure on his Facebook page, but it has since been taken down and replaced with a simpler, “It didn’t work.”

Here’s the original post:

“hey folks, before this goes too far let me say this: I greatly respect trent and the music he makes. no one is at fault. we both agreed it just was not working. I’m sorry to disappoint anyone. that really hurts. but NIN will do an amazing show and I am back where I belong: creating FLUX.”

This decision must have been swirling around everybody’s heads once NIN re-united with Robin Finck. And with their new album Hesitation Marks due out on September 3, it’ll be interesting to see how the live shows will shape up with the new/old lineup. The news also comes just as the single “Came Back Haunted” made its way online, and after announcing dates for a full U.S. tour to to take place at the end of September with Explosions In The Sky and Godspeed You!
