Oh, Sleeper temporarily rejoining with ex-guitarist James Erwin

Posted by on July 23, 2014

ohsleeper620x400Texas-based metal band Oh, Sleeper has been left in a strange predicament as of late with singer/guitarist Shane Blay busy off supporting his new project with ex-As I Lay Dying members, Wovenwar. This has lead to some conflicts considering Oh, Sleeper still has a couple dates booked that Blay won’t be able play. Their solution? Simple, bring in ex-guitarist James Erwin to cover for Shane on vocals and play rhythm, while their other guitarist Nate Grady will be taking over the leads.

The band’s Micah Kinard had this to say about the matter on the band’s Facebook page:

“On another note, WHO’S PUMPED ABOUT DIRTY SOUTH FEST COMING UP IN AUSTIN HOUSTON AND DALLAS!?!? Our brother Shane is going to be with WOVENWAR at the time of these shows and wishes he could do it all but didn’t want us to cancel them so the one and only James Erwin will be returning to fill in on vocals and guitar while our very own Nate “The Mouse” Grady covers the leads! (Thats right, Shane “BLAYZOD” Blay is such a baller, we gotta divide his parts between two people). Please show your support for WOVENWAR by getting their debut record and making it to both our shows in Austin and cheer him on as well!

Lots of exciting stuff on the horizon! See you all soon!”

Oh, Sleeper dates:

08/01 Austin, TX – Dirty Dog Bar
08/03 Houston, TX – Walters
08/04 Gilford, NH – Gunstock Mountain Resort
