Robb Flynn needs surgery just ahead of tour

Posted by on May 11, 2015

After a bout of food poisoning, Robb Flynn of Machine Head was still in pain. Some tests were run, and now Flynn explained that he’s got a gallstone, and the surgery to treat the pain requires the removal of the entire gallbladder. That’s usually bad enough, but Machine Head are supposed to start their headlining tour in South America in two weeks.

Said Flynn in a video (below):

“I have a gallstone in my gallbladder and I need surgery to remove it. And I’m getting ready to go on tour in two fucking weeks, for seven weeks.”

Flynn is no stranger to going under the knife; he had his appendix  removed when he was just a boy, and Machine Head had to miss some shows with Dethklok in 2012 because Flynn needed surgery to treat a hernia.

This upcoming tour starts on May 25th, in Guadalajara, which will be their first time ever playing in Mexico, and then it’s weeks of more international travel to New Zealand, Australia, Japan, and Europe.
