When he’s not busy working with 5 Seconds of Summer, Nikki Sixx is apparently spending time working on new Sixx: A.M. material. Since the release of Modern Vintage in 2014, the band has managed to write two albums worth of music, and they’ve booked a massive amount of touring to promote the two releases.

Said Sixx in a statement:

“SIXX: A.M. is in the most creative place of our career and we’ve already completed almost 24 songs to date. We’re still on a writing and recording spree and plan on finishing up at least 30 songs total. Volume 1 and Volume 2 of the album have over 22 songs that tie together thematically and sonically. They will not be released at the same time to allow fans to absorb each album to its fullest but both will come out in 2016. This will be tied in with a 24-month world tour.”

For Nikki Sixx this new double-album and two year world tour will come after this year’s massive final tour with Mötley Crüe, which ends on New Years Eve night. Sixx, who turns 57 in December, must have discovered a fountain of youth, because in the video update from the studio (below), Sixx says the band is writing so much that they’ll have enough material for an album in 2017.
