The “Dio Returns” tour is slated to kick off in early December in Germany where fans of the metal legend will have the first chance to witness the full Ronnie James Dio hologram tour package with the Dio Disciples band.

It will start in Germany on December 6th and will do a couple of shows then will be moving onto London, England, Poland and three shows in Spain, Belgium and Holland. Wendy Dio who is the widow and long term manager of Dio said she hopes by the time it hits the USA it will be summer time.

Since the hologram’s debut, fans have been torn about the concept, some have backed the digitized Dio, saying it will help spread Ronnie’s music and offer an escape to the world of fantasy he entertained us with throughout his career. The hologram will perform for the majority of the show, treating fans to an alternating set list that will feature the songs “Holy Diver”  “Rainbow In The Dark”  “We Rock” “King Of Rock And Roll” and many more.

The “Dio Returns” will feature Dio’s actual live vocals, backed by a live band.

Wendy also recently fired back at critics of the hologram saying in an interview with Ultimate Classic Rock: “I get called a cash cow, well it’s actually costing us a hell of a lot of money, we didn’t need to do it, but we’re doing things that we always did,” she said. “Ronnie did things for his fans, and we’re trying to continue that.”
