Addiction is a subject that no one likes to talk about. That uncontrollable urge to “feel good” or “escape” from our depressive lives using a substance, money, or sex (sometimes all three) typically results in death, debt, loneliness and further emptiness. While history repeats itself, it is no secret that there is a huge problem with addiction in America alone, especially with the expansion of technology. Everyone is now glued to the internet, leading to having full access to any addictive vice imaginable 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This controversial subject ruins thousands of households and killed many.

Porn is also highly addictive, and not necessarily in a good way. There are those that would rather spend time on a website than with their loved one or even consider dating. Many get lost in a fantasy world, unable to escape and the forthcoming documentary Addicted To Porn: Chasing The Cardboard Butterfly has more to say about this subject. The documentary is directed by Justin Hunt, who has directed films along the lines of meth addiction (2015’s Far Too Far). This time around, Hunt managed to get Metallica’s James Hetfield to narrate the film.

The documentary explores the dangers of this addiction, altering realistic viewpoints on how men and women should be perceived intimately. We will be able to hear Hetfield’s narration in select theaters and pre orders are currently available.
