2017 is shaping up to be one hell of a year for new music. We’ve got Ghost to look forward to, Mastodon are coming out with a new album on Friday, more Nine Inch Nails is a possibility, and apparently, Queens of the Stone Age have finished their seventh album. Let There Be Talk podcaster Dean Delray was interviewing singer Mark Lanegan on his podcast when talk turned to the band. He asked Lanegan, who’s appeared on every QOTSA album except for their 1998 debut, if he sang on the forthcoming one. Mark said he hadn’t, and Delray, who knows the band, asked “Have you heard it? I know they just finished, I’m dying to hear it.”

We are too. With the exception of a since-deleted picture on Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes’ Instagram page showing QOTSA frontman Josh Homme with Dave Grohl, who played on Songs for the Deaf, things have been quiet, save a post from the band condemning Trump. We should know more soon. Hell, the rumors of a July 31st release date might even be true.
