The Red Hot Chili Peppers played London’s O2 Arena last night, and their opener was a little band called Babymetal. And while playing songs about California is fun, apparently drummer Chad Smith likes to step things up a little bit, as he sat behind the kit with the rest of Babymetal’s band for their medley of “Painkiller” and “Breaking the Law.” If Babymetal doing that medley seems like something you might have heard before, that’s because they did it with Rob Halford himself at the AP Music Awards earlier this year. At the end of the medley, Smith presents Suimetal with a cake for her 19th birthday. Playing an arena in London and jamming with Chad Smith seems like a pretty solid way to ring in another year.
