As proven from the jams in Germany and Sweden, The Big 4 are continuing to change things up by performing different songs with each other. During the Big 4’s date at the Arena Fiera Rho in Milan, Italy last night (July 6), members of Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer joined Metallica onstage during their encore. This time around, though, they covered The Misfits’ “Die, Die My Darling.” While this is the first time that the Big 4 didn’t jam on a Diamond Head song, this does continue the tradition of covering a tune that’s featured on Metallica’s Garage Inc. Nonetheless, it’s a nice change indeed. Also unlike the last two times, the Italy jam featured members of Slayer. While Dave Lombardo was the only member to actually “perform,” Kerry King and Exodus’ Gary Holt (who has been filling in for Jeff Hanneman) were on stage having a beer during the jam.Video of the jam can be seen up top and after the jump.

As if the Big 4’s Italy show wasn’t special enough, the date also featured a surprise appearance from Mr. Scott Ian himself (who has been missing a few dates with Anthrax as he spends time with his newborn son). While Sepultura’s Andreas Kisser (who has been filling in for Ian) played the show, Ian joined the band onstage halfway through their set. Ian made the point to say, though, that this was the only date of the eleven he was planning to miss that he’d be performing. The goatee’d guitarist also took part in the Big 4 jam. Ian posted multiple pictures of himself backstage, as well as video he took of Anthrax’s performance from the side of the stage, via Twitter.

UPDATE: Video clips of Scott Ian performing with Anthrax in Italy have been posted online.
