It’s been a pretty good week for Chelsea Grin. The deathcore band, currently on the Warped Tour, had a their best debut yet with their new album, Ashes To Ashes. Given that it leaked over a month ago, that’s even more impressive. Today, they released a video for “Clockwork,” which you can see above. And in a (since deleted) conversation yesterday with Lambgoat, the band showed off a royalty statement. While many artists that have shown pictures of royalty statements have been shockingly low, the one Chelsea Grin displayed was… well, not terrible. The check, which was determined to be from ASCAP, one of three performing rights organizations, is a check for $207.64. That’s not making anyone rich, but for the first two weeks in May, isn’t bad atall. Especially given that Chelsea Grin is far from a household name and that deathcore as a genre isn’t particularly commercial.
