Code Orange Kids were literally kids when they formed, and perhaps because they’re hovering around the average age of 20, they’ve dropped the “Kids” part from their name, and are now just going by Code Orange. We’ve always found some similarities between them and Converge, so the fact that they’ve not only signed with Jacob Bannon’s Deathwish Records, but recorded both their debut album and their upcoming sophomore full length, I Am King, with Kurt Ballou, makes perfect sense. The quartet have just released a video for the title track for the album, which is due out on September 2. “I Am King” is a well-shot, black and white video that mixes performance with unsettling footage of someone getting stabbed in a field. It was directed by Sam Moore, who also directed their video for “V (My Body Is A Well).”

I Am King will be released on September 2 on Deathwish Records
