Corey Taylor halts Stone Sour encore set for injured fan

Posted by on September 1, 2017

Corey Taylor looks out for his fans. He wants them to enjoy the moment during live shows instead of staring at a “little four-by-four screen” and takes time out of his busy schedule to visit a paralyzed fan. It wasn’t too long ago that Taylor made an appearance in NYC for his intimate acoustic gig and book signing event. However, the last couple of days he’s been touring around Australia with Stone Sour in support of their new album Hydrograd.

During the encore set of their gig earlier this week on August 26th at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney, Australia, the singer stopped performing halfway through the song “Gone Sovereign.” He noticed an injured fan in the crowd and directed the venue staff to assist.

Footage of this incident can be found below. Around 3:20 in, you hear Taylor shouting, “Hold on! Stop!” He then asked everyone in attendance if the injured fan was OK following his request to the staff to give him an update on the fan’s condition.
