Dave Grohl has added another chapter to his career as he directed a two-part mini-documentary entitled Play. Part one starts off with a behind-the-scenes look as the discussion includes topics such as the love of playing music, the lifelong relationship with an instrument, and explaining the process and challenges of recording this one-of-a-kind performance. The doc then moves towards Grohl performing a 23-minute song live with seven different instruments.
The Foo Fighters frontman purposely set challenges for himself in creating Play as he compared it with struggles music students are faced with on a daily basis. The film was created as a mission to inspire and promote music education as the film is intercut with young musicians from the Join The Band music school in the San Fernando Valley.
Play will be released on August 10th via Roswell Records/RCA Records. Check out the trailer below and pre-order here.
