Death takes a holiday in Mastodon’s hysterical “Show Yourself” video; band playing Kimmel

Posted by on March 16, 2017

Mastodon suggested things wouldn’t end well for them in the video for “Show Yourself.” In the just-released video, they indeed don’t, but that’s not Death’s fault. In the video, a very Glengarry Glen Ross boss reminds Death, who’s having a bad day at the office, that he needs to kill more, and a lottery finds Mastodon the unlucky band. To give away more would ruin the video, but we’re happy to see cameos from both Brian Posehn and tour manager extraordinaire Darren “Bubbers” Sanders (aka Troy’s brother) in the video.

In other Mastodon news, they’ll be making their first late night television appearance in support of Emperor of Sand on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, April 3rd. The following day ,thye’ll be playing a super small show at Hollywood’s Amoeba Music. Beginning on March 31st, the day the album is released, anyone who buys the album at the store will get admission to the show and a limited-edition lithograph. Admission is limited to in-store orders only and two LP/CD + ticket per person. Admittance lines for the in-store will form on Ivar Avenue beginning at 2 pm on April 4th and is limited to first purchasers and the store’s capacity.

Emperor of Sand will be released on March 31st, and can be preordered here.
