AWOLNATION’s “Sail” is a behemoth. Getting played on top 40, alternative, and rock stations, the song has sold 4.5 million singles and been on the charts for nearly three years. And while the electro-rock song wasn’t necessarily crying out for a cover, Devildriver admirably took the track on for last year’s Winter Kills, and it surprisingly worked really well, capturing the dark energy of the original with the aggression of Dez Fafara’s band. Now the band has made a lyric video for the song. Will it bring new fans to Devildriver? Will Devildriver fans that didn’t know it was a cover be turned on to AWOLNATION?
