During a recent Twitch livestream, Dragonforce guitarist Herman Li
almost leaked a new song. In an effort to mute someone, he accidentally played about 15 seconds of an instrumental piece before realizing what he had done.

The snippet most likely comes from the band’s upcoming, as-yet-untitled eighth studio album. Back in October 2018, the band announced that they were heading into the studio to start the recording process for said album and have been keeping fans updated on it’s progress with frequent Twitch streams.

In a post made to the band’s website at the time, Li said of the album:

“We’re really excited to be recording again after finishing one of our biggest tour cycles ever. The new album will have a lot of surprises that both old and new fans will really enjoy.”

Dragonforce released their last album, Reaching Into Infinity, in 2017. In March 2018, the band released a remastered and remixed version of their 2012 album, The Power Within, in Europe and Japan, rebranding it as Re-Powered Within.

The band is set to play a handful of German festival dates this summer, including Rockharz, Summer Breeze Open Air and Elb-Riot. They are also slated to take part in the inaugural Megacruise in October with Megadeth, Anthrax, Testament and more.
