It’s no secret that Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger and Stone Sour/Slipknot’s Corey Taylor don’t really seem to like each other. Most recently, they have been feuding for a month, although their beef goes back much longer than that. About a month ago Kroeger called Stone Sour’s music “Nickelback-lite.” Since then, Taylor responded reminding him that he was once considered the ugliest dude in rock and compared his music to KFC chicken. Stone Sour guitarist Josh Rand also chimed in with his thoughts. While Kroeger had challenged Taylor to write a hit single, the band’s Hydrograd was last week’s most-sold album, something Nickelback couldn’t claim for Feed the Machine. And after a few weeks of silence, Stone Sour fans finally had their chance to respond.

Chicago Open Air Festival was held this past weekend at Bridgeview’s Toyota Park and Stone Sour performed on Saturday (16). It was during their set when the band walked off the stage, leaving Taylor for him to sing the classic tune, “Bother.” The great big mouth himself stood there while thousands of fans went into a “Fuck Nickelback!” chant.

A large grin formed on Taylor’s face as he responded to the defensive crowd:

“You guys are fucking insane. Come on, get it out of your system, make some fucking noise out there. Beautiful, crazy bitches. I’ll tell you what, we’re going to play you a non-hit song.” Just before Taylor went into the song he gave him the last laugh at Kroeger saying, “what a dick.”
